Membership & Playing Fees

Membership Fees (2025/26)

Fees for the 2025 season have changed slightly. These are split in the following ways:

  • A fixed membership fee which covers membership and administrative running cost of the club. This portion of the membership qualifies for Gift Aid at no additional cost for those members who consent in the season Opt In form, enabling the club as a registered CASC to claim an additional 25p of tax for every £1 donated. If you do not consent then the fixed membership fee still applies and Gift Aid can not be claimed.
  • A playing fee which gives the right to use the facilities of the club, receive coaching from qualified coaches and play in matches. This charge gives members something in return and as a result is excluded from Gift Aid claims.

All membership fees are to be paid via BACS payment to the club (see below for details) and there are options to play in instalments.

Playing Fees

Playing fees are due for all pre-season, friendly, league and tournament matches and gives the user the right to use the club facilities and attend training (receive coaching from qualified coaches and play in matches).

Playing fees will be allocated by your team captains for any matches that you have played in. The club has decided to turn on the new teamo functionality called "Auto-Pay", so you no longer need to authorise pay against each match. A statement will be produce and sent on the 1st of the month with no action required unless you dispute your outstanding balance. Payment of all match fees will be collected at the start of the following month on the 5th of the month.

Under the payments section within your profile you will now see Auto-Pay to see your account balance. You need to make sure you have a valid payment method - see teamo page for information on using the app and setting up your payment method.

For more information with regards to Auto Pay please refer to the Guide below:

Those who have indicated they wish to donate via the season Opt In form will be sent a donation form by Harpenden Hockey Club administrators.

Gift Aid

Harpenden Hockey Club is a Community Amateur Sports Club (CASC) which allows it to claim Gift Aid on donations, reclaiming an extra 25p for every £1 donated by a UK taxpayer, without any extra cost to the donor.

Each fixed membership subscription qualifies for Gift Aid, without it costing you a penny more, if you consent to the £20 donation Harpenden Hockey Club would receive up to £5 more for your membership from HM Revenue and Customs. If you do not consent the fixed membership price still applies but does not qualify for Gift Aid.

Please complete the CASC Gift Aid Form.

If you are a UK taxpayer and would like Harpenden Hockey Club (CASC) to reclaim tax on the donations made in the last four years and any future giving you decide to consent, you must first understand that if you pay less income or capital gains tax that the amount claimed on all donations in that tax year (April 6 - April 5) it is your responsibility to pay any difference.

Please notify Harpenden HC if you want to cancel this declaration, change your name or full home address, or no longer pay sufficient tax on your income or capital gains. If you are a higher rate taxpayer you can claim personal tax relief via a self-assessment tax return or ask HM Revenue and Customs to adjust your tax code.
