The game started off well with Rosemary making her debut as an umpire!!! (and putting up with Mandy's comments from the back!!!!)

Heather took the push back passing to Kathy. We battled against the opposition with both teams making lots of shots on goal, sadly neither team scored. The backs were spectacular, defending the ball at each and every turn and making sure the halfs and forwards were getting the ball. We had a lot of great passing between the halfs and forwards into the D but never achieved the target.

At half time the score was 0-0.

The second half we were facing the sun yet still managed to penetrate the oppositions half but after having a few shots Blueharts gained possession and sped off to threaten Katherine, our goalie. They were given 3 short corners simultaneously and despite some intense defense work on the 3rd caught us off guard and scored. Harpenden made determined efforts on Blueharts goal with some expert tackling and attempts on goal however Blueharts managed to score twice more, but still all was not lost. With excellent passing from the halfs and forwards we were back in the D. Cathy made a short pass to Jordaine who made a shot on goal which passed the GK and continued on into the goal! The whole team was ecstatic and ran back geared up to score another few goals. After that our attempts on goal were amazing with many close misses and great shots from Heather, Swadey, Karin, Maria and Cathy.

The whistle blew for full time with the score 3-1 to Blueharts.

As usual we drove to teas and talked about the game. The votes for man of the match were as follows: Rowena; Swadey; Mandy and Jordaine but the Man of the Match was Cathy.

The team was: Carolyn Lythgoe, Mandy Minchin, Swadey (Sarah Ward), Rowena Batchelor, Heather Burch, Victoria Molson, Jordaine Minchin, Kay Wimbury (Recently married!!!), Maria Williams, Cathy Port, Karin Wragg, Katherine Blay & Rosemary White as our umpire.
