Once upon a time on a bright and sunny morning there was a hockey team called Harpenden Ladies 2s who played a league match against St. Albans 3s.  The team were in good spirits and piled on the pressure from the start. This resulted in a barrage of ‘D’ action with pressure being put on the opposition by Olivia and the other forwards.  This led to an opening goal neatly scored by Louise at the post as a result of great interlinking play.  For the rest of the first half Harpenden kept control of the match but were unable to score again.
The second half got off to a strong start with an immediate attack on goal.  After great hassling and high work rate on Harpenden’s behalf, they managed to score their second goal with a great feed in from Cathy and an excellent sweep into goal by Emma.  Harpenden’s final goal was scored by Cathy after a feed in from Vicki behind the goalie.  Great work by everyone: with good runs on the wings from Beth and Julia, strong central play from Becky and Bryony, good defensive work by Jenny and Nats and a clean sheet for Kathryn.  The end of the match left St. Albans goalless after fantastic team work, the best seen this season so far!
