The ladies 2’s went into the second league game of the season with a positive attitude following a convincing win over the previous weeks’ opponents Bishops Stortford.  Throughout the game, Harps played some good hockey, passing the ball quickly and accurately, being strong in the tackle and using space well on the pitch.  Some good drives at the oppositions defence in the ‘D’ won the home side several short corners and with Vicks Sandell injecting the ball with pace, Claire Gardner fizzed two goals past the Chess Valley keeper and into the back of the net.  Beth Barrett claimed a further goal from a fine piece of open play and Julia Power slotted two more goals home following some excellent crosses off the stick of Em Lythgoe.  Next week Harps ladies 2’s take on St Albans 3’s, 10.30am at Clarence Park.
