Harpenden Ladies 2nd team had a 3-1 victory over Letchworth ladies 4th team this past Saturday.

The excellent team work of Lucy Clark and Sally Gilbert got the Harpenden Ladies off to a cracking start. Clark who had an excellent game and troubled Letchworth throughout made an influential run down the right wing, twisting and turning the defenders, in an unselfish manor as she reached the d she slipped the ball left to top of the D and found Gilbert who buried the ball in her trade mark fashion showing a good head as she was left with lots of time.

Bhupinder Rickard making her voice heard on the pitch scored her first goal to make the Harpenden ladies go 2-0 up.

Harpenden looked strong throughout and some good link up play between Hesling and Humphrey tore Letchworth apart time and time again. Harpenden had a small blip at the back as Keeper Clark made a good sliding save. Harpenden didn’t regroup in time and Letchworth got a goal back. Harpenden finished strong stealing the last goal via Becky Conagh for a 3-1 win over Letchworth. A terrific start to the season.
