Harpenden ladies travelled to Hertford this weekend determined to play some outstanding hockey and win the game!  The visitors started the game positively and were soon attacking the Hertford goal.  Some slick passing saw several early chances created but to no avail.  The breakthrough came from a fine run through the midfield by Nic Pendleton who passed to Karen Lincoln whose shot at goal was deflected home by a determined dive from Sabrina Jayaseelan.  Come on the Harps!

The second half started with Hertford pressing hard, looking to score the equalizer.  Some excellent legwork and jab tackles by Georgia Naden held up the home side’s attacks but nonetheless they won several short corners.  Thankfully Hertford could not convert their opportunities; the Harps defensive team managing to hold fast.  Harps worked hard to try to find a second goal before full time but despite some awesome hockey being played just couldn’t coax the ball around Hertford’s keeper and into the back of the net.
