New Head of Juniors required

10 Jul 2018

To all members of Harpenden Hockey Club

Most of you will have met or interacted with our fantastic Head of Juniors, Steve Holmes.

Now, after (at least!) 5 years in role, and due to increasing work commitments, Steve will be stepping down from his position over the summer.

Steve has been instrumental in maintaining and improving all aspects of the club's junior program, continuing the great work of (many) others before him, and building a junior section that ranks among the very best in Hertfordshire.

We wish him the best of luck and thank him for all the help and support over the last few years.  Steve will continue to be involved with the junior section of the club, especially given his enthusiastic hockey loving young family!

We are now looking to appoint a new Head of Juniors as soon as possible and are looking to recruit the new person from our pool of members.

The main aspects of the role are;

  • emailing parents details of the new season and training schedules
  • responding to queries from parents about joining / training / membership fees
  • maintaining database of junior members and circulating to lead coaches
  • liaising with the league around junior tournaments and passing details onto lead coaches
  • arranging end of season juniors lunch
  • representing the interests of the juniors on the club committee

If you wish to discuss/find out more about the role, you can contact me on xnicholasmclean@hotmail.com or Steve on swpholmes@btinternet.com.

Thanks

Nick McLean
