HHC AT THE HERTS 10K RUN
06.09.2007

Unless you've been walking round with your head in a bag, you can't have failed to notice the Herts 10k Challenge in posters and ads all over the town.. Well stop looking and get involved !!

The Club would like to get as many HHC members, along with their family and friends, to run the challenge raising money for Grove House Hospice and Harpenden Hockey Club. The total money raised will be split equally between the two causes. Grove House Hospice is a fantastic local charity providing care and support for people affected by cancer or another life-limiting illness in St Albans, Harpenden, Hemel Hempstead and the surrounding areas. The money raised by the hockey club will be used to continue to fund the provision of the sport to the local community, buying training kit and equipment for the club to continue coaching across all levels. This type of fundraising is essential for keeping the club going and everyone's contribution is important and valued.

How to enter
To enter the CHALLENGE costs just £14, which includes the race pack, a T-Shirt and race medal on completing the course. All you need to do to register is visit the Grove House website . Follow the link to the HERTS 10K CHALLENGE. Applications can be made online (with an extra £1 transaction fee included - £15 total), or good old fashioned post. Once you have been registered, please drop an email to Todd Baines so he can collate the names of the HHC runners. Please note, the minimum age for the race is 15 years old on race day.

Sponsorship
Click here to download the official HHC sponsorship form to be used to collate your donations.

Please enter your name and squad that you (or your family / friend) play for, then crack on with getting sponsors. Once the race has been completed, monies will need to be collated and sent to Mike Emes (Mens 1st XI Captain) where they will be centrally donated to the respective charities. This will need to be submitted by 31 October 2007 at the very latest.

On the day
More information will following in relation to the activities on the day. The only thing we ask at this stage is that you wear a piece of HHC Kit, ideally a t-shirt with HHC displayed. A limited edition HERTS 10K CHALLENGE T-SHIRT will soon be made available on the club's kit shop. For more information including the route, please visit the Grove House website.

So if you are up for racing Todd Baines and Russell Timms for the HHC Runner's Competition, or you are simply looking with some help for pre-season fitness, get registered today.
